Commercial Warm Air Heating Systems

A perfect and effective form of heating for large open-plan commercial and industrial spaces such as factories, warehouses, and distribution centres.

OKEL’s warm air heaters are available as either Natural Gas, LPG, or Electric fuel types, and enable large open-plan spaces to be heated more efficiently and effectively than with any other comparable method.

Warm air heating provides an even distribution of heat throughout the whole surrounding area to provide a comfortable working environment and one that minimises hot and cold spots, unlike radiant heaters which are rarely appropriate for these larger premises due to floor coverage.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

Why Choose Us?

With decades of combined experience in the commercial heating industry, we understand that no two premises are alike.

The specific requirements needed by each industrial or commercial building can make a huge difference to the type of heating solution that will be both cost-effective and energy efficient.

Every new installation begins with a detailed site inspection by a member of our team to assess the building and to determine the individual needs of your business.

We carefully consider operational and environmental factors before handing off to our design team to put together a hand-tailored warm air heating solution that meets all your unique requirements.

When you appoint OKEL to deliver your warm air system installation, you are assured a personal approach.

You will be assigned your own project manager who will be your single point of contact throughout the installation process.

This ensures you will be kept informed of all important developments from the initial consultation through to the final handover of the project.

Our installation teams consist of both Gas Safe and NICEIC commercial heating engineers and whether you are wanting a warm air heating system fuelled by natural gas / LPG or perhaps considering a move away from gas and to an electrically powered warm air alternative, we have a warm air heating system to suit you.

We take on all manner of warm air heating system projects, for companies large and small. However extensive the job, you can depend on us to provide the same high standard of service.

We have worked with SMEs operating at a local level, as well as national blue-chip companies. We always deliver quality installations, and your project will be no exception.

One of the most efficient ways to warm up factories or warehouses, as well as large-scale retail premises, is the installation of warm air heating systems. We are committed to providing our clients with solutions that help to minimise both their energy costs and their environmental impact.

Each of our warm air heater models are ERP compliant in accordance with the latest eco design directive and fully modulating which means the heaters will only use the amount of gas necessary to maintain the desired temperature throughout the working day. See how we helped Fortress Technology Europe support its commitment to the environment, with our electrical warm air heaters.

Every one of our commercial heating engineers has been part of the industry for a minimum of 20 years and are fully trained and qualified to deliver exceptional results.

As well as having relevant, hands-on experience in their field of expertise, they are all registered with the relevant regulatory bodies for the heating industry, including GasSafe, and NICEIC.

Types of Warm Air Heaters Used by OKEL

We use a variety of heating appliances for our commercial warm-air heating solutions, depending on the specific needs of your business.

Offering ERP-compliant heater models, in accordance with the latest Eco Design Directive, and with the aim being to reduce negative environmental impact throughout the product life cycle. They incorporate modulating premix burners and fans to reduce energy consumption and are self-modulating.

This allows the heaters to quickly bring up the temperature in the building by operating at maximum load, before reducing their output down by approximately 60% to maintain the optimal temperature, while reducing energy consumption.

We supply and install wall-mounted/suspended or floor-standing heater models for any size of commercial or industrial premises, ranging from 10 to 150 kw. While our most popular models have been natural gas and LPG fuel types, we also install electric-powered warm air heaters and have seen an increase in demand for the electric model in recent years.

Our Installation Process

1. Initial Consultation / Site Survey
You’ll be assigned your own project manager from day one and who will act as your main point of contact throughout the installation process. Their first role is to visit the site in question and speak to you about your individual heating requirements and perform a detailed analysis of your site to determine the most effective way to meet those requirements. This will include taking measurements and photographs of the area/s to be heated and to discuss items including fabrication of the building, temperature preferences, whether there is any heat-generating machinery on site, or perhaps extraction systems that remove warm air from within. In addition, details will be captured of any existing HVAC equipment that is installed on-site and to remain or be replaced as part of the project.
2. Solutions and Quotations
Our skilled and experienced designers will put together the most effective and efficient solution that fulfils all your commercial heating needs. These will be handed over to your project manager who will walk you through the option/s most suited to you, whilst highlighting their relative pros and cons. By this point, all the solutions will be fully costed, and we will be able to provide you with a detailed proposal and estimate, including details of our green funding business lease plans should you prefer to keep cash flow within your business. Once you have decided on the right design for you, we can get things moving.
3. Pre-Installation Planning
We take the safety of our engineers and that of our clients very seriously. Before we begin the installation process, we will draw up the appropriate risk assessments and method statements for the works to be carried out on site. As part of this pre-installation phase, we will also discuss timescales and installation schedules with you, so that we can ensure minimal disturbance to the day to day running of your operation.
4. Commercial Warm Air Heating Installation
The specifics of each installation will vary from one job to another. The location of the heaters and supporting equipment will be determined by our lead installer and to ensure optimal efficiency of the system whilst factoring in layout of the area/s and positioning of the incoming gas or electrical supplies. Depending on the size of the building and the complexity of the system required to heat it, this process can take anywhere from 2 days to several weeks for larger scale warm air heating projects.
5. Handing Over
Once the new warm air heating system is installed, we will provide a full hand over to include all commissioning certification and electronic operating and maintenance manuals. In addition, designated employees will be walked through the relevant controls, so they are able to confidently alter the settings as and when required throughout the year.
6. Aftercare
Once the new warm air heating system is installed, we will provide a full hand over to include all commissioning certification and electronic operating and maintenance manuals. In addition, designated employees will be walked through the relevant controls, so they are able to confidently alter the settings as and when required throughout the year.

FAQ's

As the name implies, a commercial warm air heating system directly warms the air in a commercial or industrial building, rather than heating radiators via a boiler-powered central heating system.

All kinds of industrial and commercial companies make use of warm air heaters. They are designed for larger open plan buildings that contain a lot of empty space, such as production lines, factories, and warehouses.

They can also be fitted into sports centres, indoor arenas, theatres, and other premises that cannot be warmed efficiently via central heating.

Large buildings tend to feel the cold, as it is difficult to warm up the air within via traditional radiant heat methods, such as central heating or body warmth.

If you want your staff to operate effectively, particularly during the colder months, you need an efficient way to warm your premises, without spending a fortune on energy costs. Warm air heating systems provide the perfect solution.

The installation of your warm air heating system will be dependent on your chosen fuel type, whether this be natural gas, lpg, electric or oil.

Your installer must be suitably trained, qualified, and approved to install and commission your chosen fuel type and able to do so in commercial properties – a domestic engineer will not have the relevant insurance or accreditations to work on more complex commercial and industrial installations.

That depends entirely on the size of the premises and site specific factors discussed during the initial consultation process. Different premises require different set-ups to achieve the same desired result, making it impossible to provide an estimate for costs without a full site analysis.

Depending on the size of the area to be heated and complexity of the system, installations can take anything from a few days to several weeks to install.

If your commercial or industrial property is in active use, it can take a little longer, as we do all we can to work around your employees so that we can minimise any disruption to your day-to-day business.

All our warm air heating systems are made of quality components and designed to last. Most of the equipment we use comes with a lengthy manufactures warranty, often up to ten years. If you keep your heaters serviced and maintained regularly, you can expect them to last almost twice as long.
