Air Conditioning Case Studies
Elif Restaurant
Our client, Elif restaurant, had recently opened a new city centre Turkish BBQ restaurant – with large south-facing and double-fronted glass windows and a hot BBQ grill close to their dining area. They were looking for a high-efficiency air conditioning system that would keep temperatures in the dining area to a minimum, allowing for a more comfortable experience for both diners and staff, whilst also looking aesthetically pleasing.
OKEL installed a high-efficiency Mitsubishi air conditioning system throughout the restaurant with a selection of wall and ceiling-mounted cassettes.

We chose Mitsubishi as a leading manufacturer of cooling products and that offer the most advanced range of cooling products for complete design flexibility. Built using only quality components and with significantly lower sound levels than other manufacturers’ units.
The units are available in a range of kWs, each with its own cooling and heating capacity, and with an outstanding CoP (Coefficient of Performance) rating that provides substantial savings on energy bills. An added benefit of the air conditioning system is its dual purpose which allows for cooling in the summer months and the added advantage of producing warmth in the winter months when the restaurant would benefit from additional heat.
Woolton Golf Course

Our client, Woolton Golf Course had a large private ground floor function often used for weddings and golf tournament social events which was currently without any form of heating in the winter and in the summer months would become too hot due to the large south-facing patio doors that ran the full length of the room.
We installed a high-efficiency Mitsubishi air conditioning system in the ground floor function room that consisted of a combination of wall and ceiling-mounted units that would cool in the summer months and due to its dual purpose has the added advantage of producing warmth in the winter months.
GKR Karate

Due to heat rising upwards, the mezzanine floor becomes very warm and uncomfortable for the staff working in the open-plan office space in the summer months.
We chose to install a high-efficiency Mitsubishi high static ducted system that will provide the layout of the mezzanine floor with a more effective and even spread of cooling (and heating in the winter months) as opposed to a standard split system that is more favourable in office space with standard ceiling heights.
Why Choose an Air Conditiong Solution
1
Temperature Control
Air conditioning can maintain a comfortable and consistent temperature all year round. Although most people think air conditioning is only of benefit in the summer months it can also warm the air during the winter.
2
Happy and Productive Work Force
It’s a proven that a comfortable working temperature will lead to a far happier and productive work force.
3
Energy Efficient
Modern air conditioning systems are built to be environmentally friendly and energy efficient. By installing a modern system, you will see a reduction in your energy bills whilst lowering your company’s carbon footprint
4
Air Quality
The workplace can be a breeding ground for coughs and colds which in turn increases employee absenteeism and affects productivity levels. Thankfully air conditioning units features filters that purify the air and reduce bacteria, dust particles, odours and potential allergens.
5
Protects Equipment
Many workplaces have technology and equipment that generates lots of heat from its motors. Air conditioning can remove the unwanted heat and humidity to provide the necessary protection.

FAQ
Most frequent questions and answers
Air conditioning functions as a heat transfer mechanism, systematically removing unwanted heat and humidity from indoor environments and dissipating it externally. Heat is consistently extracted from the interior and expelled to the exterior, ensuring a sustained and controlled cooling effect within the enclosed space. This cyclical process persists, with the refrigerant continually circulating between the indoor and outdoor units.
In the UK, it is generally recommended to have air conditioning units serviced annually. Regular maintenance helps ensure that the system operates efficiently, maintains optimal performance, and extends its lifespan. The best time to schedule a service is typically before the summer season, as this ensures that the unit is in top condition when you need it the most.
The lifespan of an air conditioning unit in the UK can vary depending on factors such as the type of system, the quality of installation, usage patterns, and maintenance. On average, well-maintained air conditioning units can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years or more.
The cost of commercial air conditioning units in the UK can vary widely depending on several factors, including the size of the space to be cooled, the type and capacity of the system, installation requirements, and the specific features of the chosen unit.
