OKEL were approached by our client in October 2018 to assist with their expansion plans which would require the introduction of high efficiency heating solutions for 5 new and existing warehouse and factory premises located across the country; including Derbyshire, Kent, Lancashire and Cardiff.
To design and install high efficiency heating solutions across several new and existing factory / warehouses premises across the UK.
All sites to be completed and fully operational by 31st March 2019
OKEL Solution: Having completed heating surveys across all of our client’s sites, OKEL proposed for each site to be heated by high efficiency warm air and DE stratification solutions, each bespoke and expertly designed to deliver the lowest lifetime running costs whilst capturing individual sites specifics.
Warm air was chosen due to its vast capabilities of heating large open spaces, including factories and warehouses, and supported by DE stratification to deliver an even spread of heat throughout the premises and prevent warm air from the heaters rising and being lost at ceiling height.
The fuel source chosen for the majority of our client’s sites was natural gas due to the sites already benefiting from a natural gas supply and in some cases a gas meter already being in situ or able to be arranged by an energy supplier – Please note, time scales for gas meters to be installed by 3rd party energy providers do vary from location to location and with lengthier timescales experienced in the winter months when demand is higher.
The site that came with its own challenge was located on site at Castle Donnington airport and this was due to there being no natural gas supply present. Due to the absence of natural gas OKEL proposed an LPG fired solution which would require the introduction of an LPG storage tank. Our client had initial concerns as they were unsure as to whether an LPG storage tank facility would be permitted due to the close proximity to the airport. To provide our client with reassurance OKEL arranged for a Calor Gas representative to visit the airport site to complete an LPG site survey to assess the feasibility of the storage tank and to ensure compliant with oil storage / airport regulations. A detailed post survey report from Calor provided the confirmation our client required to proceed with an LPG solution.
All installations were completed by OKEL’s teams of Gas Safe approved commercial heating engineers
Detailed RAMS were produced and sent to our client prior to each installation
Gas Safety Certification issued to the client upon project completion
